Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal’s Hindi film Special 26 ended up as a super hit at Bollywood box-office, and since then the film’s Telugu and Tamil remake has been in news. Tamil actor Prashanth’s father Thiagarajan, who is the stunts master, has bagged the remake rights of the movie.
The makers have approached Ravi Teja long back, for reprising Akshay Kumar’s role in the flick and the actor already gave his nod. If the latest buzz is to be believed, Trisha is being considered for the female lead role. Special 26 remake will be second combo of Ravi Teja and Trisha after commercial hit Krishna.
Few changes in the script are being implemented to suit it to the taste of South audiences, and the regular shoot is expected to commence from April. More details are awaited.
Thiagarajan has also bagged the remake rights of Bollywood hit Queen, which will also be remade in Tamil and Telugu versions. Nithya Menon is likely to step into Kangana Ranaut’s shoes for the remake.
