The Andhra Pradesh government has already began the land pooling system, for procuring lands in the capital region, but as many as nine villages have been opposing to give their lands, agitating against the alleged forcible acquisition. These 9 out of 29 villages are planning to approach the court.
The villagers and the land owners along with the Civil societies, NGOs are planning to agitate organizing padayatras in the capital region against the land pooling system and the TDP government.
National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM) has organized a round table meeting in Greenfield capital, where former Supreme Court judge Justice P. Lakshman Reddy, Ex-Administrator-cum-Estate Officer of Chandigarh MG Devasahayam, former chief election commissioner JM Lyngdoh and others have partaken in the meet.
They have decided to fight against AP government’s forcible land acquisition in the capital region, and have said that they will take the matter to the court. Former IAS officer MG Devasahayam referred APCRDA Act as anti-constitutional.
