The AP Cabinet committee meet chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was held on Wednesday, and the cabinet Ministers have decided to commence the construction works of the Capital city Amaravati on 22nd October, on the eve of Dushera festival as it is auspicious day for Telugu people.
Along with Prime Minister Modi, the PMs of Japan and Singapore will also be invited for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amaravati. AP government will be performing the foundation stone ceremony a grand scale on Vijayadasami Day,” said IT Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy.
The cabinet committee has also discussed on the completion of Vijayawada Metro Rail project within three years. The cabinet has given its nod for the Metro Rail project DPR. The estimated cost of Vijayawada Metro Rail project is around Rs 6,823 crore, while Centre will be sanctioning around s Rs 866 crore. The AP government will be taking a loan of 3,600 crore from JICA (Japan International Cooperative Agency).
The government of AP has decided to set up one government liquor shop in each mandal of the state, and the new approved excise policy would come into force from July 1, while the modalities of the policy would be announced by the end month.
The cabinet has also held the discussions on the implementation of Secton-8 of AP Reorganisation Act and other issues including the government’s future of course of action on phone-tapping of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and others by Telangana Government.
